APOLLO BEACH PARKS & RECREATION FOCUS GROUP

The Apollo Beach Parks & Recreation Focus Group needs your show of support for the proposed Dog Park, Skateboard Park and new tennis courts. The county has gone forward with the expansion of Apollo Beach Park and Recreation Center, which will add 9.7 acres to the existing park. The community brought forward their desire for a Dog Park, Skateboard Park and additional tennis courts. Per the county, all three projects will be presented to the county commissioners for approval of funding. Funding is directly related to the community’s show of support. Please plan to attend the meeting on May 24, 2005 at 6:30 PM at Apollo Beach Elementry School. The community is also urged to support these projects by contacting your county commissioners directly. Listed below are the names, phone numbers and email addresses for the county commissioners. Thank you in advance for your support!

Following is a sample letter that can be used to forward to the Hillsborough County Commissioners:

Hi (name),

Please flag for discussion the Apollo Beach Skate/Dog Park Community Development Plan at your meeting on June 9, 2005. This is extremely important to our community. As you know, we in South Hillsborough County are experiencing an extremely rapid growth rate. We need to ensure that we provide adequate recreation or a ”Kid Friendly” environment for our youth and other citizens who reside now and in the future in South Hillsborough. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your consideration,

John Doe
