Tips From Your ARC

PLEASE DO NOT CALL ARC MEMBERS AT THEIR HOMES, INSTEAD PLEASE EMAIL YOUR QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS TO symphonyarc@hotmail.com  ALL MEMBERS CHECK THIS BOX AND YOU WILL GET A QUICK RESPONSE.

1. If you’re doing anything outside your house, painting, planting, remodeling, docks, etc. you will need ARC approval. All our covenants and bylaws are available online at www.symphonyisles.com.

2. The ARC meets the first Thursday of every month at the cabana at 7:00 PM. We take residents who are present on a first come basis for non-lengthy matters.

3. All plans and requests should be in writing, in duplicate and left at the guard at least a week in advance if possible. No construction or outdoor modification should proceed until you have an approval in writing from the ARC.

4. If possible you should attend the ARC meeting and be present when we discuss and/or vote on your request/plans. Many times we have questions and if you are not there to answer them your approval can be put off until the following month so we can write you with the questions. If you are present you have a much higher likelihood of an expeditious approval. Many times we will not approve a plan as presented but will based on a minor modification. By being present to agree to the suggested modification your project can proceed immediately rather than waiting another month for the next meeting. If your request is approved you will be immediately given an "approved" stamped copy.

5. If you proceed with exterior changes without ARC approval in writing the Symphony Isles Board can bar your contractors from entry, and/or impose fines, and/or bring legal action against you to have you remove the non- approved modification. Be advised that there are no oral approvals by the ARC.

6. The ARC is also charged with enforcement of our rules as to your home and landscapes appearance and maintenance. Try to remember that your ARC members are your volunteer neighbors. For every complaint we get stating we are overzealous we seem to get two saying we are lax in our enforcement. If you note a condition that needs remediation send us an email. If you still think we can do it better volunteer to join us.

7. If you have any questions as to the format for plans and requests, or any questions on any ARC issue, the best way to get them answered between meetings is via email at symphonyarc@hotmail.com
